- TRANSELCA, an ISA company in this region, strengthens itself as the vehicle to take on this business in the country. This is one of the most relevant challenges of the ISA2040 Strategy. This company will also continue to own the transmission assets and contribute to the reliability of the system with the rigor and excellence characteristic of ISA and its companies.
- In total, ISA will invest between USD 6.5-7.6 billion in the continent to develop 8GW of infrastructure in storage and new energy businesses.
ISA takes a decisive step to play a more leading role in the energy transition through its new Energy Solutions business. This new front is a key part of its strategy for 2040, with a projected growth that could represent up to 23% of its total investments.
With this new venture, ISA and its companies will enter the energy solutions segment through solar farms for large consumers and by strengthening energy storage. This is a field with high potential in the country, in which the company seeks to play a leading role.
For this new venture, we decided TRANSELCA will be the vehicle to develop ISA’s energy solutions business in Colombia due to its trajectory in electrical infrastructure, operational performance, and strategic position in the Caribbean region. This will complement its current capabilities through a new market perspective and increase its adaptability in line with business needs.
To complement this evolution, all necessary processes shall be implemented so that the transmission assets currently owned by TRANSELCA are managed by INTERCOLOMBIA, maintaining the team and procedures that have maintained the operation standards in the Caribbean region.
“This decision, which embodies our 2040 strategy, is a unique chance to boost and develop distinctive capabilities at TRANSELCA and INTERCOLOMBIA. Both companies have exceptional human talent with the reputation, experience, and technical excellence that will allow ISA and its companies to take on a more prominent role in the country’s energy transition., “said Jorge Andrés Carrillo, CEO of ISA.
