He was the winner of the 2017 Portfolio Awards due to his outstanding management, ethics, and social responsibility.
With the attendance of the Presidency of the Republic, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, Government Officials, scholars, opinion leaders, businessmen and trade union leaders, the 2017 Portfolio Awards were given at EL Nogal Club.
At the ceremony, ISA’s CEO, Bernardo Vargas Gibsone, was given the award as the Best Business Leader by a jury comprised of seven of the most prominent businessmen and opinion makers, under the criteria of “social responsibility, leadership, perseverance, communication skills, initiative, ethics and creativity.”
“I thank God for giving me the opportunity to receive this award which represents to me, an honorable recognition of the purpose I have always wanted to guide my life, and it can be summarized in serving others to give back of what is received, through dedicated, ethical and responsible work for the benefit of a better world. This award also represents an enormous responsibility which commits me to continue working to give the best of me to my family, my company, and of course, to Colombia,” said, Bernardo Vargas.
Among the group of nominees for the award there were outstanding business leaders such as Carlos Enrique Cavelier from Alquiería; Juan Raúl Vélez from Cueros Vélez, Monica Contreras from PepsiCo and Yonatan Bursztyn from Nalsani.
Since 1993, Portfolio Awards “constitute the most important business recognition of the country, since they have made possible every year to recognize the existence of companies and people willing to exceed expectations and averages of their own industries and situations.”
It is worth remembering that in 2015, ISA won this award in the Human Resource Management category, which recognizes outstanding organizations for the good treatment of their employees which reflected on the commitment to facilitate their comprehensive development.
