Responsabilidad Social Empresarial - ISA

This is how we manage our principles

1. Support and Respect:

ISA conducted in-house awareness-raising training sessions for nearly 70 individuals and for 5,200 people with the stakeholder Society in Eastern Antioquia, Central Magdalena, Tolima, Lower Magdalena, Meta, Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Montes de María.

2. Not being complicit:

ISA produces a monthly report addressed to the United Nations High Commissioner on the state of Human Rights in the Organization. In 2013, ISA was not penalized for Human Rights violations.

3. Freedom of association and collective bargaining:

ISA has subscribed two collective agreements called Labor Contracts with its non-unionized workers and a Collective Bargaining Agreement with its unionized workers. ISA respects freedom of association and provides the implied warranties of this right.

4. Elimination of forced labor:

ISA rejects forced labor, and its work day is shorter than that required by law. Moreover, the Company keeps track of the minimum legal requirements of its suppliers in matters of safety and occupational health.

5. Abolition of child labor:

ISA's covenants include clauses that prohibit child labor, and the Company is moving towards including this clause in its service-provision contracts.

6. Eliminate discrimination in employment and occupation:

ISA has a Human Resources Policy and a Code of Ethics that ensure participation and access to employment on equal terms, giving priority to the human and professional qualities of the individual.

7. Preventive focus that favors the environment:

the business of building linear infrastructure systems carries an environmental impact
due to the removal of vegetation. In order to prevent this impact during construction, routes are identified, giving priority to those with less environmental sensitivity. ISA implements Forestry Compensation Programs –FCP–.

8. Encourage initiatives that promote greater environmental responsibility:

in 2013, guidance was provided to 200 Suppliers who had to prove compliance with all occupational health and safety and environmental management requirements in order to receive the order to start work. ISA compensated for the emissions issued in 2012. ISA received the Carbon Neutral Certification through the purchase of bonds from South Pole Carbon, a world leader in carbon compensation.

9. Development and dissemination of technologies that respect the environment:

ISA has an Integrated Management System that enables it to manage its impact responsibly. There is an action line that seeks the protection of biodiversity and measures to mitigate climate change.

10. Work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery:

ISA and its companies have an Anti-Fraud Code, a Code of Ethics and an Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism System (AML/CFT) for the verification and compliance of ethical behavior among its employees in all its corporate operations and activities.
