Controlled Companies

Interligação Elétrica Pinheiros –PINHEIROS–

Commissioninf of Itapeti 345/88 kV substation, adding 800 MVA of transformation capacity. This Project, located in Mogi das Cruzes, allows reinforcement of energy supply in the Eastern and Northeastern regions of Great São Paulo, providing relief to transformers' load in the Northern and Northeastern regions of CTEEP.

Interligação Elétrica Serra do Japi –SERRA DO JAPI–

With an investment of USD 90 million, the company entered the service Jandira and 440 kV substations Salto, adding to the electrical system of 1,600 MVA transformation capacity and 10 km circuit.

These works will help to improve the power supply in the northern region of Greater São Paulo.

For USD 30 million, CTEEP acquired 100% of this company's shares. Its concession contract expires in 2025.

EVRECY's assets are located in the states of Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais, and include three 230 kV (154 km) transmission lines: Governador Valadares - Conselheiro Pena, Conselheiro Pena -Aimores and Aimores - Mascarenhas, and Mascarenhas 230 KV (450 MVA) substation. These assets generate annual revenues of USD 5 million.

CTEEP Investments

Interligação Elétrica Sul -IESUL-

With an investment of USD 8 million, it added 50 km of circuit to the electric system by powering the 230 kV Jorge Lacerda - Siderópolis transmission line, located in the state of Santa Catarina. This was done to address growing energy demand in the region.

The company expects that the 230 kV (100 km) Joinville Norte - Curitiba transmission line will start  operating in the third quarter of 2013 between the states of Santa Catarina and Paraná. The investment for this project is USD 20 million.

Interligação Elétrica do Madeira –IE MADEIRA–

The first line of the transmission system of the Río Madeira Complex, also known as "Linhão do Madeira" started commercial operations in 2013. This line traverses Brazil from North to Southwest, connecting the Porto Velho (Rondônia) - Araraquara 2 (São Paulo) HVDC substation.

The energy generated by the Santo Antônio (3,150 MW) and Jirau (3,450 MW) hydroelectric power plants belonging to the Rio Madeira Hydroelectric Complex (the largest energy project in the Amazon Region) is being transported from Rondônia to São Paulo through the HVDC transmission
line at 600 kV, the longest in the world
(2,400 km).

Commissioning of the Porto Velho CA/CC
conversion substation (3,150 MVA) at
500/600 kV and the Araraquara CC/CA
inverter substation (2,950 MVA) at
600/500 kV is scheduled for 2014.

Interligação Elétrica Garanhuns –IE GARANHUNS–

In the states of Paraiba and Pernambuco, two 500 kV substations are under construction which will add 2,100 MVA of transformation capacity and 838 km of circuits in four 230 and 500 kV transmission lines to the Brazilian electric grid. The project is scheduled to enter into commercial operation in 2014 and will require an investment of nearly USD 85 million.

Finally, during 2012, CTEEP and the Brazilian companies in which it owns stakes, invested approximately USD 250 million to transition projects from construction phase into commercial operation, adding 580 km of circuits and 3,800 MVA of transformation capacity to the Brazilian electric grid.

Thanks to the EVRECY acquisition, ISA strengthened its involvement in Minas Gerais and entered into Espirito Santo State, extending company operations in Brazil to 16 states.

Brazil: New projects and projects underway

With the Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (ANEEL), CTEEP negotiated a series of expansions to reinforce its transmission network in the state of São Paulo. These projects, amounting to 470 MVA of transformation capacity and 378 km of circuits, will generate annual revenue of USD 19 million.

Additionally, at the 004/2011 transmission auction, ANEEL awarded CTEEP the 30-year design, construction, operation, and maintenance contract for the 345 kV Itapeti substation. This project adds 800 MVA of transmission capacity to the state of São Paulo, thereby making the energy supply more reliable in the northeastern region of Greater São Paulo, Mogi das Cruzes and Vale do Paraíba. PINHEIROS will be in charge of the execution. Start-up of this operation will generate annual revenue of nearly USD 2.4 million.

At the same ANEEL auction, CTEEP (51%) and Companhia Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco (CHESF) (49%) were awarded a lot to design, build, operate and maintain two 500 kV substations for 30 years. These will add 2,100 MVA of transformation and four 230 and 500 kV transmission lines, adding 1,380 km to the grid. The execution of this project will be the responsibility of Interligação Elétrica Garanhuns (IE GARANHUNS), with investments by CTEEP holding a 51% share. Start-up of this operation will generate annual revenues of nearly USD 19 million. This project is very important for ISA because it will allow CTEEP to enter Paraíba and Pernambuco, thereby increasing the number of states in which the company operates to 14.
